Today I read over a social networking site a ‘criminologist’ state that the country needs to kick all immigrants out of the U.K based on the events in Woolich.

Just a quick entry about the current situation in Boston before I nip to uni.

- I think it’s sad to see there are already assumptions on who may have planted the explosions, especially if people from a particular group were not involved.

- Inflicting terror on innocent people is never excusable nor acceptable.

- I think you have to look at why somebody has wanted to inflict terror upon people. Somebody has went out their way to do this, there is cause and effect. Until the person/s are identified it’s hard to make good comment on reasoning but normally an act of terror is through indifferences with who they are targetting e.g. religion, clash of cultures and quite often through not being accepted within society, people react with things such as terror attacks. I’m in no way whatsoever defending terrorists because I don’t condemn their actions but unless there is more education on minorities of people within society and the continuity of isolating members of the public stays, then terror will always exist. You’ve got to learn to understand each other, accept each other and live alongside each other if terror is ever to become a thing of the past. (To re-iterate, I’m not passing assumptions on any particular group of people but regardless of who they are, their beliefs, where they come from the above still applies to most if not all terrorist attacks).

- I’m all for everyone sending messages of support to Boston but ‘pray for’ is too regularly used by those who are either athiest or agnostic etc. Pray to who? The God who allowed this tragedy to happen in the first place?

First ‘post’ since August ‘12. I just don’t have time to squeeze tumblr in my life. Everything has changed. I’m pretty chill and focused now.

Cheers to the people who got me through it (I can count them on one hand) and I have no words for the people who didn’t. I’m in a happier place now and have new goals and ambitions.

Picking up immediately where the finale left off, Season 7 will open with Debra’s horrified reaction to seeing her brother kill last season’s baddie, Travis. “Viewers might think we shy away from that moment of Debra walking in and seeing Dexter stabbing into Travis’ chest, but it’s just the opposite,” says executive producer Scott Buck. “She now has to deal with what she’s seen and what she knows. And it forces him to defend and define himself.”

That’s complicated given Deb’s romantic feelings for her brother. “It’s ironic that people are fine with Dexter jabbing people in the heart but mortified by this romance,” says Buck. “We’re not shying away from those feelings of hers, either.”

Yesterday I had a pretty cool job of activating these special wristbands for Coldplay @ Stadium of Light. They normally timed well with the music and it made it more atmospheric!

Worked 10 - 9 then got to watch Coldplays full set. Was so sweet watching Robyn sound check and what goes on setting up such a massive tour!

I’ve supported the police for years and when they get a load of grief I’m always the first to stick up for them but the past few months I’ve found it hard to not generalise the lot of them. There are police officers that have the right heart and mentality for the job but the majority I’ve had the displeasure of coming across are a disgraceful representation. I feel like I’m constantly fighting a losing battle wanting to work in the police and prison field and it’s the already employed people in these sectors that really irritate me.

1) Witnessed (IMO) police brutality last night. Young gentleman urinating against SOL, out of most eyesight…. police approach the gentleman and violently push him against the wall in front so that he smacks his face off the wall and ‘bounces’ back off it. The police did this in a manner that scared the man, injured him and by not vocally approaching the man the officer knew exactly what he was doing to get his own fucking personal pleasure out of it. The officer continued to man handle the gentleman in a unreasonable way. I was talked to someone about it who said, ‘maybe the officer had, had to deal with many others like this’. This is not the point. If you are a police officer you should remain calm and collected in all cases, you need a calm mentality to approach people. By approaching someone like that you are instantly aggravating the other person who if they retaliate is completely hopeless as the officer will be quick to charge them with ANOTHER offence. In this situation, any decent and strong police officer would have vocally approached the perpetrator, most likely in an assertive manner as he was committing a crime. After this, the perpetrator should have been rightly charged. In no way did that person deserve the violence he received.
- During this, other officers just watched as it happened. By allowing your colleagues and yourself to treat members of the public you are continuing to draw a divide between the police and the public. There are so many outcries like the London Riots etc that demonstrated the divide between the police and hatred and how there is so much hatred (particularly in young people) towards the police. The police are fueling it and ALLOWING individuals to be ‘lawful leaders’.

2) For one of my last modules I focused on the police and how they cooperate with the Equality Act, in particular to employing. Macpherson report after the Steven Lawrence case made 70 recommendations to tackle institutionalised racism within the police. They were to be met by 2009 and one was to increase BME representatives within the police. 7% BME representative target was set and was only met with 4.1% which has risen from the original 2%. How are BME members of the public suppose to feel protected by the police or go to the police (especially with racial victimisation issues) if there are persons within that police that are racist and favour the white race? (Yeah, I know not everyone in the police is racist but it is still institutionalised!)

3) The amount of people on my course that make racial slurs is disgusting. You ask them what they want to be and they said, ‘police officer’ or ‘prohabation worker’. THESE PEOPLE are going to be protecting you, these people are going to be the unbiased law enforcers and they’re ridiculously racist!

4) When I was in Leeds I saw a man get arrested, of course whilst have the officer press into his neck with his arm unnecessarily. The man was having a conversation with his friend, whatever the topic was the man was angry about it. Because they just so happened to walk past police, the police told him to calm down (it’s the mans fucking conversation which had nothing to do with them) which aggravated the already annoyed man which lead to him having his neck pressed into.

5) ‘I’m not racist BUT’

6) Oh, when the police came into my uni to talk about why you should join the police the dumb fucks said the reasons are:

- If you like being a leader and a boss

- Gives you a bit of a boost being able to take charge

Not if you want to protect the community, ensure everything is lawful or if you’re a person that takes a fucking interest in the criminal field of work!

So because of this, I find it merely impossible to work alongside such dumb fucks in this area of work. There is no hope for this country….. although I couldn’t name one country where I know there is good police/public relationships. Employing the wrong fucking people who couldn’t give two flying fucks about the job. No one does anything about it so the divide between police and public continues. It just encourages me to work with young people and get them sorted for the big bad world and how unfair and unjust it really is.
